Today we are going to be taking a look at the indie nail polish brand, ILNP. I found ILNP about a month ago on Etsy while perusing for new inspiring nail polish shades that were out of the box. INLP specializes in holographic, glitter ridden, sparkling nail polishes so if you’re more of a matte kinda nail person then these will most likely not be in your wheelhouse. BUT if you are trying to blind a man with your nail polish then I highly suggest picking up a few bottles.
I currently own six different colors (two different finishes) and will be going through each of them below. I personally do three coats of each shade to achieve my desired holographic shine but you can definitely dial it back to whatever your preference is. You could also just do one coat on top of a matte polish to give it a little extra somethin’ somethin’ as the first layer can go on fairly sheer. With my Formula X System I can get anywhere from a 4-7 day wear out of these polishes. Please keep in mind not even my Canon camera can do justice to these incredible shades, the shine and glitter is even more powerful in person.
Interstellar is my FAVORITE polish out of my current six. It truly makes it look like you have a tiny galaxy on your nails and when I wear it I can’t stop staring at my hands. Interstellar has a base of deep blue with hints of green and teal depending on which way the light hits your nails. ILNP somehow managed to bottle the night sky and put it in nail polish.
MEGA (Ultra Holographic)
If Lizzie McGuire’s outfit from The Lizzie McGuire Movie‘s final scene where she’s singing the iconic 2003 hit “What Dreams are Made Of” had a matching nail polish, MEGA would be it. To be completely honest, the second I saw this nail polish I screamed because that Lizzie McGuire song is one of my favorite of all time and I knew this nail polish was speaking to me on a religious level. This photo doesn’t even begin to do the color justice, just know that when you are outside and you wave your hand through the air you run the risk of blinding anyone within a 500 foot radius.
HUSH (Ultra Chrome/Holographic)
The original Hush is in the chrome finish but I decided to go for the chrome/holographic version because I love glitter. Hush is a mixture of blue, green, teal, orange and even a bit of red if you can believe it. Twirling your hand around in the light makes it look like you have the entire rainbow on your nails and it is amazing.
MOUNTAIN VIEW (Holographic)
Mountain View is a deep forrest green color. I’m typically not into green nail polish but I decided to throw caution to the wind and embrace the holiday season on this one. While it won’t end up in my regular rotation of polishes, I do love how different it is from my normal colors and will definitely use it for special outfits.
PRETTY LITTLE LIAR (Holographic)
Pretty Little Liar is a deep plum grape color. Similar to Mountain View, purple is not a nail color that is in my regular rotation but I love PLL because by the third coat it fell more toward the raspberry plum color than a deep purple. I will be wearing this delicious grape on my nails throughout winter.
OH HUNNY. The second I saw Diablo I knew I had to have it. I am a ride or die red nail polish girl and when the weather starts to get a little colder I switch over from a fire engine red to a more vampy shade to match my cold emo mood. Diablo is a very deep burgundy oxblood red that looks like the blood of your enemies sits on your nails – I’m obsessed with it.
If you couldn’t tell by all of the above mini reviews, I am a huge obsessive fan of ILNP. Their polish is truly unlike anything else on the market and for the price point ($10 – $12.50) I think it is definitely worth the investment. They come out with about a dozen new polishes every season so you are never without new shades.
I also wanted to quickly talk about the packaging because packaging is extremely important to me with beauty products. ILNP’s polishes are all in square bottles which make them very easy to store. They also come with my FAVORITE type of nail polish brush (wide and stiff) compared to some other brands that use thin brushes which I cannot stand and can be streaky when applying. Finally, all polishes have a grip twist which I have found to be a life saver when you accidentally smear your polish before it dries and you need to make a touch up. Have I convinced you to buy a few bottles yet? This is my love letter to ILNP. Never change my love, never change.
