My name is Sarah and I am the founder/Editor in Chief of this place. Welcome to The Grayscale.
If you are reading this, that means that we are LIVE and I am probably freaking out in a corner somewhere. For the past few months I have been growing, building, changing, and cultivating all aspects of this new project. Now, it is finally here for all to see. (*internal screaming*)
Here at TGS you will find a little bit of everything. You can read word vomit posts, beauty reviews, craft DIY projects, profiles on some of our favorite people, life stories, entertainment recaps, wine reviews, advice and so much more. The Grayscale is unofficially a blogazine – a hybrid of a blog and an online magazine. The blogazine title gives us the fluidity to post different kinds of articles, essays and reviews as well as different ongoing series that carry a bit more structure.
The Grayscale was discussed and dissected by many women through its initial inception phases and the structure of the blogazine will showcase that. These women believe you should never be limited in any aspect of your life. These women believe that you should be able to make your own choices. These women believe that you have a right to feel however you please.
Women are often times referred to as the multitasker, the “do everything” or my personal favorite, The Queen. The idea of being a strong, all encompassing house is what I want TGS to reflect. I want to be tough, soft, intelligent, hilarious, delicate, running around, taking my time and everything in between. I want to be able to read about the best red lipsticks next to an essay discussing feminism next to a list of new books to look into reading for the upcoming month next to an update on SCOTUS, all while listening to a newly curated monthly playlist. As women we don’t limit ourselves in our daily lives to just a few things we enjoy, so why should we limit the content that we read?
The answer to that question is simple, we shouldn’t and we don’t. We do anything and everything, when and where we want to.
I hope The Grayscale feels like a safe and trusted space for anyone who visits. I am so proud of the team that will be writing and bringing you new content every week. Each of our contributors has a different strength which will show through their individual voices. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Cheers to a new adventure where options are limitless. I want it all, and I want you to have it all too.
